msg systems AG has added a multipurpose IT service lounge to the entrance area of its headquarters in Ismaning. combine developed an individual design concept for the newly created working environment and was also responsible for awarding contracts for the renovation work and coordinating the general contractor, including cabinet and finish carpentry work and furniture.

The new IT service lounge at msg systems is the central point of contact for IT support and service matters in Munich. Consisting of a service counter, including waiting area with bench seating, a warehouse where repairs are performed, and a display area for mobile IT devices, the service lounge offers the company’s 1,800 employees a place to get quick solutions to problems and direct help right on site.
Design developed and implemented by combine.
combine developed and implemented the design concept within seven months, from June to December 2021. The architects emphasized creating an eyecatcher when designing the space, putting the mobile device display area front and center. The service lounge was designed entirely in the company’s distinctive red, while the dot from the logo is echoed in the floor. Vertical lighting elements were also installed to draw the gaze to the display.
Linear ceiling lighting provides the finishing touch, guiding visitors to the lounge. Since the new IT service lounge is located in a passageway area on the ground floor, the idea was to make it stand out to employees.
Clean, stripped-down lines and colors were chosen, with metallic and industrial surfaces dominating.
