Continental AG held an architectural competition in spring 2017 for the construction of its new corporate headquarters.
The company relied on the services of combine to manage the tender.
A ten-member jury, consisting of representatives from ContinentalThe jury of the city council, the city council, specialist judges and other experts selected the winning design in June 2017: the Munich-based architecture firm HENN GmbH will plan the ambitious new building in Hanover.
The new campus will be a unique selling point
The new building for Continental AG's headquarters in Hanover offers a unique opportunity to create a new location with its own characteristics and new qualities. The architecture and open space design of the new campus for around 1,600 workplaces will ensure a high quality of stay and will be a unique selling point for Continental AG in the future.


Renowned architectural firms from Germany and abroad took part in the competition with a total of 13 submitted designs. combine was entrusted with determining the requirements, was involved in drawing up the planning basis for the competition and assisted the jury as an expert.
Continental's new company headquarters consolidates all the uses spread across the city in one place and marks the eastern entrance to the Lower Saxony state capital of Hanover. The site, which is divided into the northern and southern construction areas, is occupied by a campus-like development of individual buildings connected by bridges.
The "Loop", a superordinate access route that connects the individual buildings, becomes the central component of the design idea and symbolizes communication and cooperation. It can be experienced both internally and externally and offers a variety of spaces for meetings, conferences, cafeterias and informal workplaces, opening up space for creativity and the exchange of knowledge.
