A place that connects: zooplus finds a new home at LUMEN
The move represents a significant milestone for the company: the consolidation of both Munich locations into a new building. But this is more than just a new headquarter. Comprehensive project support for zooplus: from site selection to successful commissioning
Right from the early stages, we supported zooplus in evaluating location options, negotiating leases and defining functional requirements. During the subsequent implementation phase, we took on project management, including user representation, cost control, change and invoice management, quality assurance, support until commissioning and follow-up support.

At Herzog-Wilhelm-Straße 18, just a few metres from its previous location, LUMEN is a modern office and commercial building with high architectural standards. errichtet. Space for exchange, retreat and inspiration: this is how zooplus will work tomorrow
The new working environments at zooplus feature a variety of special areas and functions: the spacious town hall area on the ground floor with integrated seating stairs is complemented by extensive community spaces and chill-out areas, a representative board room and various conference and project rooms. Flexible retreat, meeting and focus rooms enable concentrated work.
Testfood Kitchen, bicycle storage room, showers and changing rooms complete the infrastructure. Employees also have access to attractive terrace areas and the green inner courtyard as open space.
This extensive project was supported by close collaboration between experts from four of our areas of excellence: workplace strategy, design, change management and project management. Man's best friend – the dog workplace concept at zooplus
Based on the activity-based working principle, we have developed a tailor-made working environment concept with a focus on flexibility, exchange, retreat options and multifunctional areas.
At zooplus, dogs are not only welcome, they are an integral part of the corporate culture. With the move to the new headquarters in LUMEN, a well-thought-out and lovingly developed dog workplace concept was realised, enabling the targeted integration of dogs into everyday office life – structured, suitable for everyday use and with an eye for detail. Bookable dog workstations, dog stations on all floors, a central paw cleaning station and drop-off zones for external dog walking services make animal love at zooplus a tangible experience, both spatially and organisationally.
A normal day at the office – with pawed companions
To ensure that everyone can work together smoothly, clear rules apply: dogs are not allowed in focus rooms, meeting rooms or phone booths – out of consideration for allergy sufferers and to ensure concentrated work phases. During these times, defined handover solutions are used, such as colleague support or the Bark & Go service. Hygiene, quiet areas and access regulations are also strictly regulated. In addition, the emotional connection to the brand is visibly lived out: with customisable dog beds, a ‘dog wall’, bone name tags that can be labelled and design details that run through all areas. The vision of ‘Celebrating Pet Love Everyday’ is thus reflected equally in the infrastructure, communication and interior design.
The result is a working environment that combines animal love, modern work culture and brand identity – structured, empathetic and unique. zooplus is thus setting new standards for the interaction between people, animals and the world of work.
To each animal its own pleasure: the ‘pet-friendly’ design concept
The interior design and design language at LUMEN is based on a specially developed design DNA that brings the value proposition ‘People + Pets’ to life in a spatial way. The guiding principle and leitmotif was zooplus' vision: „CELEBRATING PET LOVE EVERYDAY“The result is a timeless, functional and pet-friendly design concept with clear room typologies, generous community areas and integrated dog infrastructure. Brand stories and CI elements – from"Tigerino"meeting rooms to the Dog Wall – were creatively translated into the room concept.
The design is complemented by a brand-specific signage system and sustainable, ergonomic furnishing standards. Change management or ‘The early bird catches the worm’
About a year before moving into LUMEN, we supported zooplus through a period of cultural change – with the aim of creating acceptance, orientation and a positive spirit of optimism within the company. The starting point was the merger of two locations with different team cultures, as well as new requirements due to growth, the pandemic and hybrid collaboration. We developed a tailor-made change journey with a change story, roadmap and target group-specific communication, participation and empowerment formats.
As part of the project team, we took on an active role in the implementation phase and also supported the cultural integration of dogs into everyday office life.
Conclusion: A workplace with added value – even for four-legged friends
The new zooplus headquarters in LUMEN Munich is a vibrant expression of contemporary work culture, strong brand identity and architectural precision.
