New Construction for Dynamic Working

This is how the Beiersdorf campus in Hamburg was created

How do you create a place that embodies the future of work while respecting the company's roots? In a new episode of our Resonance Lab, we explore this question using the Beiersdorf Campus as an example. The project demonstrates how corporate tradition and modern concepts of collaboration can be combined—and what courage, openness, and shared decisions are needed to achieve this.

What it's about

The new Beiersdorf Campus is not only an architectural flagship project, but also a symbol of the shift towards flexible, dynamic work environments.

Guests are here Jens Schreiber, Head of Real Estate, Safety & Employee Services at Beiersdorf, as well as Martin Krause, Head of Excellence Project Management at combine.

Together with host and combine CEO Matthias Pietzcker Take a look back at the creation of the new Beiersdorf Headquarters in Hamburg-Eimsbüttel – from the initial planning in 2013 to the move-in in 2023.

In the conversation, you will learn:

  • Why the decision was made to stay at the company's original location,
  • how a modern campus with workplaces, labs, and services was created from 50,000 m²,
  • what influence Corona had on the project and how the concept of Dynamic Working was developed from it,
  • how desk sharing, flexible workplaces, and spaces like the „Working Café“ shape everyday life today,
  • and what learnings Beiersdorf and combine are drawing from this megaproject for the future.

The Beiersdorf Campus shows: Modern work environments are not just about attractive architecture. They need clear concepts and strategies that enable encounters, promote collaboration, and support change.
